Schools
North Meadow is proud to be part of the Chamberlain School district. Of the seven elementary schools in Goshen, it provides the best opportunity for social and academic development. With a nice blending of Anglo-Saxon, Afro-American, Ukrainian, and Hispanic students, children learn social skills that will benefit them for life. Racial prejudices are eliminated creating a good learning environment.
Chamberlain probably has the most skilled and dedicated teaching staff in town with 5 teachers involved in homework tutoring. Programs allow students to progress as they are capable and achieve high academic levels.
The results show in ISTEP scores: Of the 7 Goshen schools, Chamberlain is no. 1 in writing skills, no. 2 in math, and no. 4 in language skills. They are above the national average in all rankings.
Don Jantzi, the principal, invites anyone to visit the school to see for themselves. He also welcomes phone calls at 534-2691.
A big bonus for Chamberlain School is the Boys and Girls Club of Goshen, which is located next to the School. This community supported organization provides a fantastic after school program. Many students walk from Chamberlain to the Club where they do homework, learn skills, and participate in athletics. The devoted staff create a positive environment influencing development of social skills for kids.
